Extra help for the partner living outside care when their spouse or partner is in residential care or long-term hospital care.

Eligibility points to check

You must receive a benefit or pension; your partner must be in residential care or a public hospital for over 13 weeks.

How to proceed

If you have already notified the agency about your partner’s admission, no separate application is needed; check with the Residential Subsidy Unit.
