A Student Loan NZ can help with eligible course fees, study materials or living costs through StudyLink. You must repay what you borrow.

Eligibility points to check

Check course, residence history, study progress, previous borrowing and repayment obligations. From age 55, normally only compulsory fees can be borrowed. Living costs are not available to everyone.

How to proceed

Apply online through the first-time or returning-student process on StudyLink and supply course and identity details.

Have identity and residence details, income or asset information, and any relevant medical, tenancy, care or study evidence ready. The official application page decides the exact documents required.
